FROM TARPAULIN TO PRODUCT

Do you have an interesting idea, where the soft PVC from tarpaulins can be used, then do not hesitate to contact us.

Tarprec has a responsibility towards companies that with to work with the material, as we wish the material becomes a part of a circular environmental system. We can only achieve this if we cooperate and create unique products that can benefit the end user and not least the environment. Therefore, we try to support start-ups and companies that want the material as a part of their products. Over the years, we have gained a lot of experience in soft PVC and we know how the material behaves and what it can be used for, as well as what product options the material contains.

We want to be as transparent as possible to our partners. We do this, among other things, by showing all the processes the tarpaulins go through before they reach out to our partners who create the final product.

Before we can start with the later processes, of course, old used tarpaulins are needed. That is why we spend a lot of time calling around the world to find old used tarpaulins, which are ”just” a call away, from having a unique life.

The tarpaulins are placed on the operating table, where they are trimmed for steel, straps, and other unnecessary materials. REMEMBER! we actually use 90% of the tarpaulins and the steel elements are recycled by melting it. Only 10% of the tarpaulins have not found their way to be upcycled, and are therefore thrown out.

Since the tarpaulins have had a long and hard life, they have also become thoroughly dirty from their travels and other things from the many roads they have driven on. Therefore, they get a wash, which is most likely their first and last. The industrial washing machine that washes the tarpaulins also gives them a drying so the they come out dry and ready to be folded.

After the tarpaulins have been washed and dried, we use our black belt in origami to fold them neatly together on pallets. Here we divide them by colours, as this way it is easier to find the desired colours. When this is done, the tarpaulins are sent to you, where the unique tarpaulins get a new life.
